Various publications — or would-be publications — have come and gone over the years, some vanishing as quickly as meteors, some lasting just long enough to be noticed, and a few still in print today.
"Il Pensiero"

De Marianis proved himself a man of considerable learning. In 1903 "Il Pensiero" was born, a fortnightly periodical for the teachers of Salento, of which he was one of the main promoters — so much so that he was given its editorship. The periodical was thus founded in Galugnano and edited there until 1906, when its editorial offices moved to Galatina and it became the "Administrative Journal for the Interests of Education in Lecce". No further trace of Maestro De Marianis and his family remains in Galugnano, save for a council resolution of 11 November 1908 recording his replacement, together with the teacher Giuseppa Dell'Anna, of "the old teachers who had resigned".
"Lu Paise Nesciu"
In 1971 began the series "Lu Paise Nesciu" (Our Town), an annual one-off issue written and published by the Galugnano town club for the patronal festivities of 28–29 September, still published today. It offers political and social satire, at times fierce, aimed chiefly at local politics. Among its co-founders, for a decade, was Alfonso Martina, who bore the greater part of the burden of the new idea born on the wave of the town club's opening the year before.
"Il Banditore"
In 1978, under the presidency of the town club, a bimonthly local news publication was proposed. The idea was met with scepticism, and the scattered enthusiasm it did draw faded after its first and last issue, January–February of that same year: the time was not yet ripe.
"Noi Giovani"
In November 1987, as head of the local Catholic Action youth group, a proposal was made to publish a monthly parish bulletin — of Catholic Action, but also of local news — to be distributed free in the town and mailed to Galugnano natives living elsewhere, to keep them close to the life of the parish and the community.
This time the proposal found fertile ground among the young: the bulletin "Noi Giovani" was born. Success came quickly; it began as photocopies, then moved to the group's own photocopier, and finally, in November 1991, to a print shop. In 1989 the publication was registered with the Court of Lecce under no. 454; in 1996 the association adopted a formal statute by notarial deed. Directed for a decade by its founder, "Noi Giovani" is today led by Emanuele Dell'Anna (Director) and Davide Dell'Anna (Deputy Director).
Within "Noi Giovani" there also grew a kind of resident theatre company avant la lettre, with impromptu actors aged from 4 to 70 performing at the opening of each social year, on the first Sunday of October: the "Gruppo Amatori del Teatro" (Amateur Theatre Group). Also worth noting is the founding of a scholarship named after the local doctor "Don Pippi Cucurachi".

"Ritagli"
In 1988 the town club took on an ambitious bimonthly publication, immediately placed within the regional press distribution network: "Ritagli". Directed by fellow townsman Umberto Verri, a sports journalist with the Gazzetta del Mezzogiorno, the magazine ranged from culture to social affairs, without neglecting local history. It folded, however, after barely a year: born "grown up" for a small town like Galugnano, it suffered from stiff competition, high costs and too little volunteer help.
